The best in Canada Trout Fishing for trophy walleye, pike, rainbow trout, lake trout, bull trout and grayling remain yet undiscovered. Trout fishing in the vast lakes rivers and streams of British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon still sees very light fishing pressure if you know where to go. Lake trout, walleye and Pike fishing in Ontario Canada has become more popular in the past years as Americans ventured north to experience this enormous land teaming with great fishing waters. Ontario fishing lodges that focus on trout, walleye and pike fishing have been doing well and their growth in popularity has been strong and steady.

For anglers looking to tangle with some really big trout, the Northern Rockies must be placed on the list of great places to go. This is the place where you’ll find a large number of incredible trout fishing lakes spread out across a region of vastness and solitude. It’s here that one of my most memorial trout fishing trips was to a lake in the Northern Rockies of British Columbia not to far from the Yukon Boarder. This lake offers the incredible lake trout fishing along with some outstanding Arctic Grayling fishing that kept us busy night and day.

Fishing Meziadin Lake in Northern B.C.

Meziadin Lake Provincial Campground

Meziadin Lake Provincial Park and Campground in Northern B.C. Canada.Head west about 300 miles along the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) from Prince George to the turnoff at junction 37 and your headed northwards on the fabulous Cassiar Highway. Take the Cassiar 95 miles north towards the Stewart-Hyder turnoff and just before the T in the road is the sigh for the campground at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park. This is the first of four lakes we will be fishing and three wonderful Provincial Park campgrounds located on some absolutely fabulous trout fishing lakes. The Provincial Parks are handily spaced at nearly an equal distance from one another along the 446 miles of the Cassiar Highway. The Meziadin Lake campground is in a protected cove that shelters the campsites from any winds that may arise. Most of 46 campsites have a great view of the lake, which is so full of rainbow trout even I could not help but catch my limit. Be forewarned as there are plenty of black bears in the vicinity of the lake and campground taking advantage of the four species of salmon that spawn in the Meziadin Lake.
